Day After

Nagu-misaki Cape

Nagu-misaki Cape is the southernmost point of Dogo Island and commands an impressive panoramic view of the strait connecting Dogo Island and the Dozen Islands as well as the Dozen Islands which lie a mere 12km in the distance. The lighthouse at the end of the peninsula lights up the strait. The hilly land beyond the lookout is used as grazing land for cattle. This location is especially stunning at sunset, and as dusk approaches the lights of squid fishing boats begin to appear. The wide vista here as well as the humid atmosphere means that crepuscular rays (often referred to as Angel’s ladder), which are rays of light shine through the clouds, like a ladder to the sky often occur.
